Christian Counselling and Psychotherapy

Faith-sensitive support for your emotional and spiritual wellbeing

Are you a Christian feeling overwhelmed, struggling with painful emotions, or unsure where to turn?

Counselling can be a powerful way to feel truly heard and supported. Speaking with someone professionally trained to listen, and who shares your Christian faith, can help you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with God’s peace, and rediscover your sense of purpose.

A Safe Space to Be Yourself

Christian counselling offers you space to explore who you are and what truly matters, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally.

You won’t be expected to talk about anything you’re not ready to. I’ll be guided by you; your story, your pace, and your hopes for our work together.
Don’t worry if you’re unsure where to start, we can gently find a way forward together.

Support That Reflects Your Faith

As a follower of Jesus for over 30 years, I understand how important your relationship with God is to your life. I also know how painful it can be when you’re emotionally struggling, spiritually dry, or even hurt by others in faith communities.

If you’d like, I’m happy to include prayer in our sessions, but only if it feels right for you. I will always respect your unique walk with God.

Common Themes Clients Bring

  • Emotional exhaustion from always putting others first
  • Struggles with unhelpful or critical thoughts
  • Feeling hurt by others – including within the church
  • Difficulty setting healthy boundaries
  • A desire to reconnect with peace, purpose, and God’s presence
  • Church leaders feeling overwhelmed or spiritually depleted

Patterns learnt in early life can affect how we live today. As you explore what’s been happening and the difficulties you’re facing, new awareness may emerge.

This new awareness may show you patterns you’ve not noticed before.

Awareness leads to choice and change.

You can learn to value yourself and to find healing from the wounds caused by others.

If you struggle to set healthy boundaries you can explore the root of where this may have started. You can learn how to set boundaries that can bring more balance.

“The confidence we have as we face tomorrow is rooted in the quality of our walk with God today.”

Should Christians go to therapy?

As Christians, we’re called to care for one another. Sometimes that care includes receiving support ourselves. The word therapy is not in the bible

The bible teaches us to seek God first, to trust God and cast all your cares upon Him, because He cares for you; as it says in 1 Peter 5:7

Hear the words of Jesus: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

The bible also teaches us the importance of community and to ‘share one another’s burdens’: Galatians 6:2

There are many benefits to choosing counselling and therapy. It isn’t a replacement to worship. It is a way to healing.

For where two or three gather together in my name, I am there among them. Matthew 18:20 God expects us to join one another and help each other.

God is always with us and He has designed us for connection.

He teaches us to seek knowledge and to keep learning: The mind of the discerning acquires knowledge and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

There is no conflict between Christian faith and professional counselling. In fact, God often uses others to help restore, guide, and strengthen us:

When your therapist shares your worldview, you don’t have to explain or defend your beliefs, you can simply be.
